Our Special Visitors

Pau-Pau and Gung-Gung come to visit

We were thrilled to welcome Pau-Pau and Gung-Gung to visit us this month.  The 8 days flew by!

Day 1: Welcome to Australia… and our crazy weather.  We braved yum cha in a full thunder and lightning, and a blackout too.
Eden’s Welcome
Pau-Pau: Hi Eden
Eden: Hey, what you doing here?
Pau-Pau: We are here to visit you.
Eden: Visit me?  Sleep in my house?
Pau-Pau: Yes
Eden: Mama, it’s your family?
Me: Yes.  That’s my mama and daddy
Eden: Oh, okay.  Come in my house, my family.

Gung-Gung couldn't resist cutting Eloise's hair
Day 2: Today, we took the Rivercat from Parramatta to Circular Quay.  We love the Family Fun Day ($2.50 all day, all modes of public transportation).  We had a lovely lunch in The Rocks and checked out the Markets too.

Day 3: Being a school day, Eloise and Eden went to pre-school/ daycare while we dined at Bondi Icebergs for lunch (in peace!).  After we went to Bondi Junction for a look around… read: I wanted to go to Pottery Barn.

Day 4: Again, I took advantage of Eloise and Eden going to pre-school/ day-care for some adult time.  We headed into Chinatown and Darling Harbour.  I was looking forward to trying Ramen Ikkyu but it didn’t live up to the hype.  No one should leave Darling Harbour without a stop at the Lindt Cafe.  Gung-Gung was a big fan… note, he also didn't share his sundae!

Day 5: Back to the routine, Pau-Pau watched the little fishes at swim lessons.  In the evening, we had dinner with cousins.

Day 6: Today, Pau-Pau and Gung-Gung explored Chatswood on their own.  It was a short work day as we attended Eloise’s graduation in the afternoon.

Happy Graduation Eloise!
That evening, Eloise was excited to celebrate her graduation with Gung-Gung’s chicken wings.

Day 7: As Pau-Pau and Gung-Gung’s visit was ending soon, we kept Eloise and Eden out of pre-school/ day-care for the day and went into Sydney CBD to check out the sights of Christmas in the City.

Day 8: Our last full day together, we had a quiet day at home… mostly because we had a turkey in the oven.  It was so nice to have a Thanksgiving together!

Day 9: Last cuddles (and pats) before Pau-Pau and Gung-Gung returned home.

We love you so!
We hope it’s not long until we see each other again!
